This gospel was written by Mark between 55-65 AD. Mark was not one of the twelve disciples of Jesus but he preached the gospel with the apostle Paul on his first missionary trip. This gospel is the shortest of the four gospels.
As a king Jesus deserves to be served. However, the teaching of Jesus encourages us to have different attitude towards life:
“If one of you wants to be first, he must be the slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served; I came to serve and to give my life to redeem many people.”
This gospel encourages believers to believe firmly that Christ is the Savior. Mark recorded eighteen miracles and wonders performed by our Lord Jesus Christ to prove that he is the Savior and the King but he served people as a servant and scarificed Himself to save them.
